A fashionista since the age of 10, Kay’s first foray into fashion design was on the knee of her abuela, a Cuban immigrant and dress maker. Kay took up the sketchbook and began designing herself in high school when she and her abuela collaborated on her prom gown. She has been serious about fashion ever since.

Kay received a B.A. in Fashion Design from Marymount University in Virginia, continued her studies abroad as an apprentice to London bridal designer Angela Stone and later as a student of couture draping at Paris’ American Academy. Kay took her studies one step further when she pursued advanced design studies at Drexel University in Pennsylvania.

A New Orleans native and Academy of The Sacred Heart alumna, Kay returned home where she designed and constructed custom evening, bridal and cocktail apparel under her own KMC Design Studios. When Kay recognized a void in the local marketplace for edgy street style in December 2014, she opened her own curated boutique on Magazine Street.
